the Cymbidium
Cymbidiums originally hail from tropical and subtropical areas of Asia, especially China, India, and Australia. They thrive in cooler night temperatures (10-15°C) to encourage blooming, making them unique among orchids that generally prefer warmer conditions. Cymbidium plants can grow quite large, with wide green leaves up to 1 meter long. Each flower is hand-secured with an elastic band and pulley to straighten it, requiring attention several times a week. Each stem goes through a 3-month binding process before it can be harvested, contributing to their value.
